Microdermabrasion

Gwinnett Dermatology offers microdermabrasion and other cosmetic dermatology services. Serving Atlanta, Snellville, Lawrenceville, Grayson, Gloster, Lilburn, Bethesda, Centerville, Rosebud, Caleb, Loganville, Luxomni and the surrounding area.Microdermabrasion improves mild to moderate sun damage, scarring, wrinkles and other superficial skin problems. A gentle stream of tiny particles exfoliates the outer layer of skin and provides a fresh, glowing, younger appearance. Only a small amount of skin is removed, so sensitive areas such as the face, chest, neck, arms and hands can be treated. Results are comparable to a light chemical peel and should be immediately visible. Microdermabrasion is often performed in conjunction with other skin renewal procedures, such as laser treatment and chemical peels. Multiple treatments are recommended for full effect.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin. Peel formulas and strengths are tailored to each patient. Peels can be combined with other procedures such as facelifts for a younger look. They may be covered by insurance if they are performed for medical rather than cosmetic reasons.

Sclerotherapy

Gwinnett Dermatology offers sclerotherapy, also known as spider vein treatment, and other cosmetic dermatology services. Serving Atlanta, Snellville, Lawrenceville, Grayson, Gloster, Lilburn, Bethesda, Centerville, Rosebud, Caleb, Loganville, Luxomni and the surrounding area.Sclerotherapy is a technique utilized to treat small to medium sized dilated veins which lie just below the surface of the skin. This treatment is used primarily for spider veins on the legs.

Sclerotherapy is a safe and non-surgical method for the treatment of spider veins. It involves injecting a mild sclerosing solution into the affected vein causing the lining of the vein to become irritated and collapse. The vein will then be dissolved by the body.

Once the unhealthy vein has been destroyed, blood in that area is then rerouted to healthy veins restoring proper circulation. If you are interested in learning more about sclerotherapy or are considering treatment, please call to schedule a consultation with our sclerotherapist, Gail Wenner, RN.
